Today we would like to share with you in our blog the details of a complex removal with a crane of a generator set on a farm. Specifically, at Granges Terragrisa’s Corminons Farm. This operation represented a significant technical challenge due to the location and specific conditions of the installation.
The farm in question relies heavily on the genset to ensure a reliable and continuous power supply in the event of power outages. However, due to a major equipment failure, it was necessary to remove and replace it with new, better performing equipment.
We carefully planned the genset removal operation using a high-capacity crane, considering aspects such as the weight and dimensions of the equipment, as well as the precise location of the crane and the necessary safety measures to carry out the operation safely and efficiently. The fact that the farm’s perimeter wall had to be bridged also posed a challenge when it came to removing the equipment.
During the removal, our technicians worked in collaboration with the crane operator to ensure precise and controlled handling of the generator set. In the end, the equipment could be removed without any unexpected events, loaded onto a truck and moved to make way for a new genset.
